Finding Home
"Finding Home" is a personal project that explores where I see myself in the future. I used warm, autumn tones to reflect that in-between feeling of holding on while also wanting change. The photos were taken in random places around Canada and downtown Detroit—two very different environments that represent two parts of me. Detroit is what I’ve always known; it's safe, familiar, and full of history I’m part of. Canada, on the other hand, feels new and open, like a chance to start fresh.
This collection isn’t about choosing one place over the other—it’s about being honest with the uncertainty. I wanted each image to capture that feeling of searching, of trying to connect with places on a deeper level. Some of the scenes feel like home, even if they’re not mine yet. Others remind me of what I’d be leaving behind if I ever left. Through these photos, I’m learning that “home” might not be one place—it might just be wherever I feel most myself.
